Two-Team Shadow Play

Two Team Color Coded Shadow Play:

This is a variation of one team color-coded shadow play had on the blog a little while back. The difference in this shadow play variation is now two teams and two coaches are on the field. Each team will have one coach who will call out the color grid the ball will be played into, the calling of colors will need to be logical and well paced in order to create a good passing tempo and realistic flow to the shadow play. After eight or more passes each coach can instruct their team to “finish”. That will allow the team to freely attack the goal and score without the coaches calling of any more colors. The nice thing about having two-team shadow play is it forces each team to be aware of the other team so they do not run into each other. It is a good way to ensure the players are always scanning the field with their heads up.
