If you are not familiar with an ecological training environment the below images will provide some explanation. My view of an ecological training environment focuses on the ability of each individual athlete to learn in their own way, by interacting and exploring solutions in game-based training environments. It is additionally beneficial when players are able to train with other quality players, for the purpose of solution modeling. Having a knowledgable coach who can offer occasional guidance to players, is another positive factor for player development an ecological environment. Compare the ecological approach to some pre-determined line drill or exercise designed by the coach, which is absent of real game cues and decision-making, and the differences should be obvious.
