Grid: Penalty Box – Penalty Box
Instructions & Key Points:
9v9 + Keepers & 4 neutral corner players. Teams look to counter playing the ball wide & deep to a neutral “yellow” corner player. The corner player will look to play in an early cross into players that are making runs into the box. Variations: Allow the neutral corner player to dribble in-towards the goal looking to pass to an attacking player in the box. Key Points: have attacking players time their runs into the box, think of the cross as a pass to a player in the box, the shot is the final pass placed into the net, make sure attackers vary their runs, late and fast runs are usually very effective.
